School Sports Kit Sponsorship - Anyone have this in place offer some advice?

Hi

Just asking on the off chance that any of you are aware if your school sports kits are sponsored by a company?

Our marketing team have been asked to look into it but were talking to me asking if i knew of any schools who did it. So thought I would ask the EduGeek community as you usually come through for me :)

Their questions were:

- What did the school charge? (Just enough to cover the cost of the kits or a little extra?)

- Was there a fixed time length that the kits would be used for?

- How many kits do you have with it on?

- Do your kits just have one sponsor?

- Did you do every school team or just certain ones?

If anyone could ask at their schools I would be very grateful :)

Thanks

Not quite the same but I am trying to organise for a new sponsor to purchase a kit for the football team I run. PM me if you want.

My last (primary) school put out a plea via a newsletter for kit sponsorship from a company for a generic sports kit that could be used for all sports.

Just so happens that a parent was a director at a local company near the school.

His company donated the kit and all he asked for was when ever the sports results were in the newsletters or on the website that the school added a line "Sponsored by 'insert company here'" whilst his children were in school.

The school were willing to pay for the kits but the parent wanted to.

So in short its worth asking in your newsletter/emails to parents to see what you can get.

Morning

Yes, a lot of our sports kit is sponsored, some by parents or alumni (either privately or their companies) and one by a very nice member of these forums. :) And after Saturday we are getting swamped with sponsorship offers for the 1st rugby team with numbers you wouldn't believe...!!!

To answer @elsiegee40 question, we aren't part of that scheme but we are a rugby academy and help deliver rugby in several of the local primary schools, the boys do it as part of their Community Sports Leaders qualification they do in Y12 enrichment. Our Head of Rugby is going to look into it though so thanks for the link.

@tj2419 PM me and I'll be happy to answer your sponsorship questions off-line

Couldn't resist...

We've looked into them for my school too, and have just approached local companies and there's always been a decent amount of interest... I was happy to sponsor @AJWhite1970's basketball team, and visited the school to meet the team - great school, and great staff and students!
