Cubase 4

Hi All

Can anyone point me in the right direction please, I have a cubase file with midi tracks recorded and when i play it I can hear it from the speakers. However there is no activity in the default input channel so i can't record an audio track of the midi and then an audio mixdown. This was working a few weeks ago but now doesn't, and i have looked and looked but cant seem to reconfigure either cubase or the pc to enable me to get back to that point.

We have a cubase 4 with Creative SB X-Fi sound.

Any help would be appreciated.

No recent driver updates to the Creative card?

No hardware or driver changes. It worked OK the week before half term.
