Koldov Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 (edited) Hi All, Just thinking about finally jumping into ASM but to be honest, I'm not sure if I really need to. What will I be gaining? Unless DEP and VPP will just stop working... We have Year Group sets of iPads, we are not one-to-one. The iPads were all supervised on a Mac and are enrolled in Lightspeed MDM. Well, I decided to bite the bullet, but got stumped on pretty much the first page! What does this actually mean? Really mean? Luckily I can read and all, so I get the general idea - but I don't want hundreds of Apple ID's created for the pupils and I certainly don't want them created with a blahblah.apple123 @ LEAandridiculously-longschoolname.org.uk.... PR-UK Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 All students are given a new Apple ID, the Apple ID is based on a preference firstname.surname/firstinitialsurname etc. and then a top level domain. However you want to avoid conflicts (e.g. if students/staff have already created Apple IDs with their school email account) so you may want to purchase and setup a new domain ([email protected]) or add a subdomain to your existing domain ([email protected]). 1
snagrat Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 It won't auto create the Apple IDs though so moving to ASM wouldn't cause any problems for now. Just gets you ready for when you might want Apple IDs 1
