Microsoft have just announced their Xbox Game Pass service today: Introducing Xbox Game Pass: Unlimited Access to More Than 100 Games - Xbox Wire

$10 A month will get you access to over 100 Xbox One games and backwards compatible Xbox 360 games.

Interestingly, this was mentioned:

Xbox Live Gold members will also be receiving exclusive access to Xbox Game Pass prior to the program launching to the broader community. We’ll have more details on timing closer to launch.

This service (by all accounts) will not be replacing Xbox Live Gold.

Sounds sensible as every other media business plan has been moving to subscription services.

When you consider that AAA titles can be £50+ it does make good financial sense @£10 per month.

One thing that worries me is that some reports said they may be rotating titles in and out of the scheme. I hope not (I may have read it wrong) as it may make bigger games impossible to complete.

I wonder if they have seen how popular EA Access is and want to follow in the same way.

EA access is quite cheap but it would be nice if it was integrated as well.

I wonder what happens with play anywhere games.
