Faulty USB Key

Another USB related issue.

 

We have a member of staff, who has not backed their work up. They say when they open the folder ringed in the picture below from the root of their USB, it shows the following within the folder.

All of this is just nonsense.

 

 

 

 

Is there any way of solving this? I can't think of any ways myself.

I'd say the memory stick is on the way out looking at that second pic

I've seen similar with fake high capacity USB drives.

Thanks guys, so it is not sounding all that good.

The user uses an Apple Mac at home and obviously Windows at the school. That wouldn't make any difference would it?

Not really, especially not to that extent. There are some file system compatibility differences between the two, but that corruption doesn't tend to be the result!
