They missed questions from here which is annoying given that it was an Edugeek event and they talked about a name alias but I cannot find that setting so short of changing firstname to Mr you can't alter staff names to sensible ones for Classroom.

Hi quick answer for you on James's behalf.

 

Email Alias's can be created but Name Alias's cannot currently. However those with Admin Console access can change your name within the user tab to whatever you fancy.

Select user

Click the three dots

Rename

 

However this will mean that your name will forever stay (until changed) as MR. XXXXX.

There is currently only options to add email alias's but not name Alias's.

Yeah it's not exactly a proper solution!

 

They were quite dismissive of the question which is something I've had asked by multiple staff in multiple institutions.

Have to say I'm w/ @Primus on this one. That's not really a solution to the question, I'm afraid. Can't go around setting everyone's firstname to Mr / Mrs / Miss for all purposes. I think it's something that needs a solution in Classroom, to display teachers' names differently to student members of the class. I'll submit feedback that effect, I suppose.
