nicholab Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I just been looking at some documentation and I have found there was an issue running this test the message I get is Error: DNS server: **cs.local IP: [Missing glue A record] If I go in to DNS under _msdcs.local > Local> _msdc I> I get **cs listed as alias for another server. What course of action is required to fix this issue? Can I delete this record as some suggest?
nicholab Posted February 16, 2017 Author Posted February 16, 2017 (edited) Bump Can I delete this DNS entry as this is the one that seem to have a missing glue record? Edited February 16, 2017 by nicholab
Chuckster Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 In both my DNS servers I don't have a subfolder for 'local'. Besides that I have everything else. Do you have the Enable automatic scavenging of state records enabled under the Advanced tab of the DNS properties? If not, might be worth enabling that and seeing how it goes after the set period. NB: The specified period has to be greater than the DHCP lease time. So if you set the scavenging period for 7 days, then the DHCP lease time must be 6 days or less.
TwistedHelixis Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Did you get this sorted? I have a similar issue on one of my servers but don't have any time to look at the issue just yet.
