bonnett11 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Has anyone else looked into this? I was hoping to maybe use onedrive as a mapped drive for all students, but I only want to use it online and not download all the information each time. Is it even possible? Also does anyone else use office365, that is installed on the computers in their school? as everyone has access to it? surely is can be linked to each persons account if azure AD connect is working? something like a SSO? Then would it be possible to set up outlook to connect to the students email account? Just a few of the ideas that i'd like to try.
MarkCronin Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Hi, Have you looked at IAM Cloud's solution for Education? Their Cloud Drive Mapper would do exactly what you are looking for. Happy to explain in more detail if you want to discuss further? Thanks Mark
Arcolite Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 (edited) We're looking to migrate all our local user data to OneDrive. Initially we looked at mapping a drive via a PowerShell script but decided that for something we'll be relying on daily it would be wiser to purchase IAM Cloud, that way if anything goes wrong we have support. IAM Cloud is just a client that sit on each machine and maps to the drive letter(s) you tell it to. Works well and it's relatively inexpensive in the grand scheme of things. bonnett11 Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 Has anyone got this up and running that they can demo to me, i'm interested to see how you use it.
Liam Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Backups concern me with onedrive though. It's also a pain to get to a users drive quickly via 365 admin.
IAMCloud_Leon Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Hey - I work for IAM Cloud (clue is in my name, but full disclosure anyway). If you're interested in this technology, it's probably worth you trying it for yourself. We run free trials and they're pretty quick and easy to set up, and we have a team that can help you through the steps. Here's more information about the product https://www.iamcloud.com/cloud-drive-mapper and the free trial sign up page https://www.iamcloud.com/cloud-drive-mapper-trial-signup Hope that helps - any questions feel free to reply or private message me. Thanks.
