Deploying iTunes Using Group Policy

Hi All,

 

There isn't a clear post for how to deploy iTunes using group policy. As iPads are making their way into education, especially for staff, you may find this post useful.

ORCA is required from the Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Kit - https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=8279

Why would you need to deploy iTunes to the end user?

Ewew iTunes. Side note why are people still using orca? Instaedit is much better.

Some end users have requested it. e.g easily transfer voice memos to shared storage drives + backup iPads locally.

They must enjoy the convoluted time consuming download process and basic features!

 

I can't think of a single reason to use Orca when InstEd is miles better and takes seconds to download.

I think it's still supported by Microsoft (since it's included in the latest Windows 10 SDK), although I have never seen them add any new features to it. It looks the same now as it did 17 years ago!
