SIMS FMS Module Local admin permission!?

Every since day dot our LA have told us we need to give the user local admin right to use the SIMS FMS module.

Has anyone got it working without this as this is a pretty big security hole!.

 

We give the user full control of the Sims folder in C:\program files\Sims but without Local admin they get errors when opening purchase orders.

Other than that they should just need write rights over the folder the borland database engine (BDE) uses, easiest way is to create this in root of C: drive c:\bdeadmin then change some settings in control panel, there is a support article in capita support about it. I haven't needed to do it since i setting up solus 3 for deployment.

Applying Fix 1 from the Capita article, pointed to above, should remove the need to be a local admin, or have UAC disabled.

Thanks for the info, could anyone DM me the fix (or copy to here)? as I`m waiting for my capita account to be processed!
