ICT Network Manager (iSAMS) – B&NES * URGENT *

£35,000 - £40,000 (depending on skills and experience) + benefits

40 hours per week (between 08:00 - 18:00 plus 1 in 3 Saturdays), in line with the needs of the school.

Our client, a prestigious independent boarding and day school in Somerset are looking to appoint an experienced ICT Network Manager, who is comfortable working within a fast-paced environment and able to deliver a first class support service.

 

The school are committed to investing significantly in IT over the next few years and the ICT Network Manager will be at the heart of the decision making and procurement processes, to impact on the strategic direction of ICT Services across a large site and three schools.

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have a ‘hands-on’ approach to your work and experience of working across various platforms. You must have the ability to lead a committed team of technicians, who cover everything from classroom support to developing and administering the network and server infrastructure. You must also be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and students with differing levels of IT skills.

 

 

To be considered for this position you must have :

 

· A recognised computer or network qualification at NVQ level 4 or significant demonstrable experience managing large networks within an educational setting.

· Experience of leading and managing a team of technical staff, preferably within an ITIL environment.

· Ability to manage change and to support the school in managing ICT change.

· Ability to develop a range of technical, business and contractual written materials.

· Experience of managing ICT procurements, technical specification, tendering and evaluation for contracts.

· Experience of working in partnership with ICT providers to deliver complex solutions.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrable experience of reaching consensus across a wide range of independent stakeholders (i.e. pupils, parents, staff, SLT and administrators etc.)

 

 

We are particularly interested in candidates with qualifications or experience in the following :

· Microsoft Certified (MCSE, MCSA, MCITP).

· ITIL Certified.

· CCNA/HP Certified.

· Current Microsoft Server/Workstation Operating Systems.

· Active Network Infrastructure Management (incl. wireless) of HP ProCurve

· Interactive Audio Visual Solutions (i.e. Smart Board).

· Server Virtualisation (ProxMox).

· Integrated Identification Systems (Oliver Library Management, LiveRegister, Papercut)

· iSAMS (School Management Information System).

· Internet Filtering.

· Google Apps for Education.

· Mobile Device Management Solutions/BYOD.

· Network security including LAN, WAN and Wireless.
