Is anyone able to offer advice?

 

We are looking into creating an alternative Curriculum for some of our GCSE srudents. These students are currently on the timetable tagged to some subjects and some are not. Is there a way of showing / tagging these pupils on a timetable seperate from their GCSE options? The idea is that the alternative Curriculum will allow these pupils to receive additional support?

Create alternative curriculum activities in Nova-T and you will be able to remove students from random lessons (as long as they are the same each week).

 

If the students are simply dropping some subjects entirely to do something else then the easy answer is to remove them from those subjects and schedule a different one in it's place.

As @bobsmith said, it's all about creating the sessions in Nova, and adding rooms and staff as appropriate. Once this has been sent to SIMS you can add students through Focus -> School -> Academic Structure -> Curriculum Assignment by Student -> Add Activity.

 

It's becoming more and more useful here as Y11 intervention sessions kick in.

If want to remove kids from some lessons of a subject but not others you can do that in student curriculum assignment, using the 'relax' button to put them in both groups, then on the timetable below the orange class assignment bars, clicking on, and resolving the clashes.

So if I've got a clash on a student timetable you're saying I can withdraw them from a particular lesson and not the entire series?

 

I've been using alternative curriculum for this and it's a royal pain in the ass.

Yep that's right - you do it on the timetable that's below the curriculum assignments, not the regular student timetable.
