Finchwizard Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I've got a massive amount of iPads this year now the kids passwords have changed who are just failing to get onto the Internet. The proxy log just says Bad password, even after putting the proxy Auth and Username/Password under the Wifi Settings. The iPads are somehow caching the networks and proxy passwords and regardless to what I try and do, it just will NOT clear out or work. Does anyone have any ideas or had this before?
RLR Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 You can try resetting the network settings on the iPad: Settings > General > reset > Reset Network Settings.
Finchwizard Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 I've actually tried this along with resetting all settings and leaving content. I have no idea where else I could change or adjust to clear out these settings. Before it used to just say it can't connect, with ios10 it seems to just do a quick load and safari does gos back to a blank page.
theeggmaster Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Are you using any sort of certificate to get onto your WiFi for authentication? We had an issue where the certificate only lasted a year, so removing it and rejoining it to the WiFi presented the new cert and then the iPads were happy.
Finchwizard Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 no certificate. join with a standard wifi key and proxy is basic auth with username and password and occasionally i have an ipad that womt work, but this year wih all the password changes ive run into nearly all of them having issues and not updating. which is a definite ios 10 making it even more of an issue.
tmoon-mint Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 How do your iPads connect to the network? Do you connect them manually or use a profile from AC2/MDM? Do you put credentials in the profile or do you type those in manually?
Finchwizard Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 Everything is put in manually as they are BYOD devices.
Finchwizard Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 Usually when I do have problems the iPads will connect to regular websites fine but ssl sites fail and the proxy logs say bad password. It's as if the ssl username password for proxy is hidden away or not updated properly. I've reported it to Apple and they said it was a duplicate bug yet this was over the last couple of versions of iOS with both 9.1 onwards having random issues
