Attaching Files to an Outlook Calendar Entry

I'm hoping somebody may have seen this before:

 

Our HR director has access to the Heads calendar and can create\delete entries just fine. However if she wishes to attach a Word document to any entry it simply does not stick when returning to the entry even though there is no error to suggest something went wrong in the first place.

 

At first I thought it may have been the process of right clicking attachments from other emails and then copying them into the calendar entry that was causing the problem rather than going through the right menus but like I say this is only happening with Word files and the method worked when tested with Excel and PDF files.

 

The strangest bit is having successfully saved another file to a calendar entry, adding a Word file to the same entry wipes it out and still doesn't appear itself.

 

We have another user with access to the Heads calendar who has no such problems so I think I may compare and contrast, I'm also wondering if it could be the Outlook profile or maybe run an Office repair.
