karldenton Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Apart from the obviously fantastic Edugeek Pizza for lunch, where else is good to get a bite to eat from. I'm bringing the headteacher down and he's not a fan of pizza. Any other stands doing lunch Thanks

elsiegee40 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 As far as I'm aware Edugeek's pizza is unique. It's there because the stand staff need to eat, but acts as a convenient lure for members too There's a good choice out in the concourse for the non pizza fans

ICTDirect_Dave Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) The Fox is a pub between Excel and Custom House station. Burgers are decent and they aren't too pricey. The Tapas place is supposed to be good too. Don't go to the Indian place on the ground floor of the hotel opposite the main entrance. @Dos_Box threatened to TriP[/MENTION]Advisor the Expletive Deleted out of it after we all went for a meal with Smoothwall a couple of years ago! CAM Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) Cross over the footbridge at Custom House station and take a stone's throw of a walk down Freemasons Road to the bus stop. There is a place in the row of shops called Freemasons Cafe which does fantastic all-day breakfasts at a decent price. Plates are huge! You can also take a walk towards the cable car past the Novotel and Ibis hotels and you come across a place called Al Masar. It's a lebanese restaurant where you can take your own beer in (which they told us after sitting down so someone had to get up and run over the road to grab some beer before the food arrived! ) and the food there is amazing. Really good quality and the set meal was an endless stream of different dishes that filled the table! Edited January 18, 2017 by CAM

I wish i had known that last year, went to the Indian with some colleagues from HP and it wasn't the best experience.
ITBadger Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Thanks, I've had an email from a company offering lunch at Tapa Tapa spanish restaurant, but don't think he would eat Spanish either Get him to visit Levanter in Ramsbottom before you go, they should turn him onto Spanish food. That reminds me, I must arrange a visit to Levanter soon...
elsiegee40 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 There are always eduHobnobs on the EduGeek stand to act as a sugar hit for weary passers-by. Just help yourself

Looks like it has shut down now. I did put a review up (it was an honest one too) and all the others on Trip Advisor seem to say the same thing as well!

I had two very good curries from there but they changed their name so I guess the place changed hands for the worse.
