[android] Google Pixel - Locked Out

Need some help as I'm lost and going around in circles, will start from beginning and then you know the story.

 

Friend has Google Pixel phone. Changed password on phone but then forgot it (don't ask). I was on road most of the day yesterday so couldn't sit down and look into issue till last night at which point they had reset the phone and this is when we get problems!

 

When you setup the Pixel from scratch you have to enter a Google account, as they were not sure which they had used it caused issues. Once working out which on used we had to reset password then you have to basically leave the phone 24 hours before you can do anything with it. Cannot sign in with new account as its linked to the other one.

 

Now in hindsight it would have been easier to reset the google account then lock and unlock the password on the phone and do it that way but we are where we are. I've never seen something so locked down as it is. 1930 is the 24 hour point.

 

Any suggestions if it makes sense. I'm pulling what hair I have left out.

Some 1930 the thing let us login and restored it all back.

 

It's not something I've come across but appears to be a security feature and used to be 72 hours not 24!!

 

If anyone forgets any passwords or pin do not reset, login to Android device manager and you can reset it under the lock function. Also those with Android I'd recommend if you haven't making sure you phone is linked as you can use it to trace if lost!
