Good software for D&T/Graphic Modelling unit

Hi, I'm new *waves*

 

Was wondering if anyone knew a good piece of software for Graphic Modelling at Primary level - it's a hole in my school's software provision at the moment.

Also, does anyone know a good 3-d modelling program for primary D&T?

3D modelling isn't the easiest thing in the world to grasp at primary level I wouldn't have thought, but Pro Desktop is quite good and I believe, free to schools.

It's a PTC product. I could well be wrong on the licensing front but I remember that as students we got free copies of it when I was in school. It's not open source.

For Pro-Desktop one of your teachers has to complete a one day course and the software is then supplied free once they submit a lesson proposal. Has to be a teacher unfortunately, I'm an accreditted technician but licence attaches to teacher not me or the software so if teacher leaves have to send another one on the training...it's not expensive and generally good from my experience.

 

Edit: students and staff are allowed copies for home use once you've got the software if I remember rightly.

Me and the design techncian are very impressed with it.

 

You can do 3d very easily in it (I can do it so must be easy).
