Patrick Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Hi all. In office 365 we would like to set up email groups, or mailing list (not sure how to word it) for all staff. Essentially we would like set groups, such as KS1 staff group, so that staff can send an email to that group of people without having to enter in everyone's email for that particular set of people. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? I know about the groups option on O365 but that seems to be "conversations" and isn't quite what we are after. Any tips? Cheers!

Patrick Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Thats exactly what i'm after. Thank you! Now if only the exchange admin center wasn't running like a bag of spanners.
BFCIT Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Patrick - If you sign into your Office365 tenancy and then select 'admin centres' > 'Exchange'. On your Exchange dashboard click on 'groups' under the recipient heading. Once in groups click on the + symbol and select 'distribution group'. Microsoft try to make you create an Office365 group at this stage but on this page under the heading it says: 'To create a new distribution list, click here', click on this. From here you are able to create a new distribution list that can be used by your o365 users. I always add myself and my line manager as a'group owner' for contingency. 1
Patrick Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Thanks very much. I'm on with it now. It's odd that through the admin centre, the option for groups (not in the exchange admin area) only allows me to create security groups and not distribution groups. I've successfully done it now through the exchange admin section. Thanks guys!
