mac_shinobi Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 hahaha that would explain it, the programming stuff I have done is totally different ( and not to say I like microsoft when I mention the languages I have done ). Did some ANSI standard C++ ( No mfc or any of that yet ) A little bit of Java Mostly visual basic 6 , ASP and other then that just vbscripts and some javascripts. I really enjoy programming so far. Dont spose you know any good tutorial sites or have any good resources you could send me ( books would be nice lol ). Maybe you could give me some personal lessons on c#.NET lol ( Dreams on hahaha ) gecko2648msncom Thats my email obviously replacing with @ and with .
ajbritton Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 well I will be darned. I tested it out and for this vbscript : TwoPos = InStrRev("12345678987654321", "2") MsgBox TwoPos It returns 16 Sorry Gecko, looks like I couldn't count. It sounds like you've sussed it all out though.
mac_shinobi Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 I didnt count, I let the computer do the counting for me, i just copied and pasted it into a new script for testing purposes and made it return the results via a msgbox obviously lol. Ok now for my other thread, stuck on installing gaim, I think I need x11 but I tried to install that and it tells me it cant install because it already has newer software installed or something like that, how the heck do i fix that ?
kingswood Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Have you updated the OS (System Preferences > Software Update)? X11 is on your installation disc- put the disc in and search for the package and just install from there. If that fails, download the version from the Apple website. I have always been able to get GAIM running easily after installing X11. :-)
GrumbleDook Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Always pull down the latest version, never rely on the one from your installation disc unless it is an emergency.
mac_shinobi Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 oh that explains it lol, I will give open office a go I think it may of updated it cos it popped up and asked me about updates and I just checked em all and clicked update and it said it was updating to mac os x 10.4.4 as apposed to 10.4.2 obviously. sucks that it only has a 12" screen but its portable, I will give it that much lol. I got the vga cable so I can hook it to my 21" crt which is 12" inches inverted lol. I used the flux capacitor to invert the 12" inches , hooorraayy !! At least I dont need the patch and ok its the low end power book but in the words of Jim Carrey "I like it a lot!!!"
