Documents in Shared Folders

How can multiple users work on/edit/save the same document in a Shared Network folder for teachers? currently if one has it open the other can only open it in read only

You can share a document in Excel. Not sure of many other ways though

What server, what client, what software?

One Drive or Google Docs should both do this.

I think you can do it with Office 2016
