Where'd you read that it's free? Seems to be worded very smartly but doesn't say it's free to use.

"Free setup" isn't free to run/use.

"Special offer" at BETT suggests it is chargeable etc

May just be reading it wrong but curious to know :)

Not to mention the website seems to have been created a month ago, and they haven't even removed the standard wordpress welcome messages :p

Wouldn't be in any rush to throw my data off to someone I have no idea who they are, and only created the website recently :p

It gets worse :p For someone who is dealing with student data. Not sure I'd want someone using a one-click install :p (Only my two cents though :D)

Hmmm, another doubter here I'm afraid. I also can't find any wording to suggest its free

They dodge the question in their own FAQ - "How does EduSync work and does it cost anything?" - By failing to mention anything about cost.

They also claim their support team are "nominated Microsoft Education Specialists" but I'm not sure there is such a thing? I've heard of Education Partners (but they aren't listed) and product specialists, but can't find anything about Education specialists.

They've also taken Office365/OneNote/Classroom quotes without citing the source.

Looking at the whois records for the site and the apparent parent company, both websites were only registered this year, the edusync site is registered with an anonymiser, but the parent company appears to be registered to the "MD"'s home address! Both sites are registered with godaddy, as is the previous domain I've just found. Looks like the company has been registered with companies house since January 2011 though. One of the officers resigned around the same time that the website was launched, may be coincidence.

Personally, I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole!

The domain is also prohibited from being renewed, updated, transferred, or deleted by icann!

That just means it can't be done directly by the client. It has to be done via the registrar for whatever reason.
