pritchardavid Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Hey guys I have found a FREE classroom sync software for Office 365.... Say hello to 'EduSync' EduSync – UK SIS to Classroom Sync Hope that helps all or you out, a lot of all these other products cost about 1k a year. So I would say a great find! 😀 Will ring this company up tomorrow and get this setup!....
Steve21 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Where'd you read that it's free? Seems to be worded very smartly but doesn't say it's free to use. "Free setup" isn't free to run/use. "Special offer" at BETT suggests it is chargeable etc May just be reading it wrong but curious to know Steve
snagrat Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Funny the FAQ ask the question whether it costs, but they completely fail to answer the question!
Steve21 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Not to mention the website seems to have been created a month ago, and they haven't even removed the standard wordpress welcome messages Hello world! – EduSync Hello world! 11th November 2016| in Uncategorised| by edumain Wouldn't be in any rush to throw my data off to someone I have no idea who they are, and only created the website recently Steve 1

MichelleC Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Hmmm, another doubter here I'm afraid. I also can't find any wording to suggest its free They dodge the question in their own FAQ - "How does EduSync work and does it cost anything?" - By failing to mention anything about cost. They also claim their support team are "nominated Microsoft Education Specialists" but I'm not sure there is such a thing? I've heard of Education Partners (but they aren't listed) and product specialists, but can't find anything about Education specialists. They've also taken Office365/OneNote/Classroom quotes without citing the source.
elsiegee40 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) If you google EduSync you come up with a paid product for use with Google Apps About EduSync - EduSync A completely different business based in Canada. Another person with grave doubts about the product in the opening post. Edited December 12, 2016 by elsiegee40
bald_pig Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Looking at the whois records for the site and the apparent parent company, both websites were only registered this year, the edusync site is registered with an anonymiser, but the parent company appears to be registered to the "MD"'s home address! Both sites are registered with godaddy, as is the previous domain I've just found. Looks like the company has been registered with companies house since January 2011 though. One of the officers resigned around the same time that the website was launched, may be coincidence. Personally, I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole!
bald_pig Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 The domain is also prohibited from being renewed, updated, transferred, or deleted by icann!
elsiegee40 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 The domain is also prohibited from being renewed, updated, transferred, or deleted by icann! That just means it can't be done directly by the client. It has to be done via the registrar for whatever reason.
