So the other day i updated and installed the latest version of Active Directory Sync. Since then, its been causing no end of problems.

I thought i'd proceed and start moving staff over to O365 so they at least have an account.

The error i'm getting is:

Error: Sync-generic-failure

Sync Step: Provisioning

Extension name: SyncRulesEngine

Also, since moving staff over (selected ones, set by the UPN suffix), the sync has decided to take all users over in the selected OUs which i didn't want to happen. Now when i deselect the OUs that i dont want to sync, users are not removed or no changes are made on O365.

Ive tried changing a test student's UPN suffix and performed a Full Sync on ADDsync. Checked O365 and it's still displaying the previous UPN Suffix.

Could it be that my ADDsync is corrupted since installing the latest version. Articles online say remove ADD sync and reinstall. I don't want to mess things up. Ive tried a repair but this has had very little affect.

If anyone else has these issues, i finally got AD to sync with O365 via AAD.

I had to run a full import on the external connector (O365), wait for the to complete. Then run a full import on the domain connector.

Then a full sync on each connector running the O365 one first then and Export and then a Delta Sync.
