Hi,

Has anyone ever experienced an esxi host randomly and spontaneously changing it's subnet? Came into work this morning and the HA cluster was broken with one of the three hosts offlline. vMotion had failed and the host was unreachable. The VM's and the network services they support were still up and running and no downtime was experienced as the host was running over the failover NIC. The host was also manageable from the failover IP.

Turns out the subnet on the primary NIC had been changed randomly to 255.255.255.0 (should be 255.255.252.0). I manually moved the guests to the other hosts, reset the correct subnet, rebooted the host and reconfigured the HA cluster and all is back online.

Anyone seen this before or have any ideas how this could have happened?

Thanks in advance.
