This is a heads up to anyone running Windows 10 version 10240 and looking to move to the anniversary version of windows 10.

Parts of Serif DrawPlus 8 (14.0.1) doesn't work on latest version of Windows 10. We cannot export the keyframe / Stop animation projects, the software either crashes or fails to export however on Windows 10 10240 it works fine.

What on earth have MS done to their OS!

Ive got a bit more information regarding this error:

The message that we get in DrawPlus X8 is:

Server Busy

The action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "switch to" to activate the busy program and correct the problem.

In the event viewer we are seeing:

DCOM error:

The server {E04AB4DE-2C4E-442A-9FC9-A609A379FF08} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

This AppID cannot be found in the registry so can anyone advise to what it maybe?

Also getting this error in event viewer

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}

and APPID

{9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}

to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

The only entry that is in CLASSES > APPID is {D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160} which links to RunTimeBroker.exe with APPID {9CA88EE3-ACB7-47c8-AFC4-AB702511C276}. Again, this APPID doesn't exist.

Found this issue - there were a couple...

1. Only install DrawPlus X8 32bit instead of 64bit on a 64bit OS including the latest patch (14.0.1)

2. Install Visual C++ 2013 x86 after installing DrawPlus X8.

3. Tell students to open DP first then in DP, open their projects.
