steven_layton_sl Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 I am using the Android Outlook App on the school BYOD WiFi. Outlook does not always update, and sometimes gives a "Not Connected to Internet" message if I try to force it to update. On my home Wi-Fi, its always instantly updated. We're using Smoothwall as our firewall and I am trying to work out if anything is getting blocked. However, looking at the realtime firewall or filter logs, nothing seems to jump out. I have tried to Google what ports and URLs are needed, but failed to find a definitive list. Any ideas?
TomFreeman Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Sorry to bring up an old thread but I'm having this exact issue now on our network but can't find a solution, did anyone ever solve this?
AlanD Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Go to BYOD section....and email...and tick the outlook box...and it will automatically allow the necessary access to websites through Guardian...automatically add necessary ip addresses as not to be inspected..and configure the authentication rules...and add the necessary firewall rules for BYOD to work with outlook. I jest of course....making anything work with utm/firewall/web filters is increasingly a daily pain that is repeated by every manager. Yes, there are individual configuration help pages for some apps but why these aren’t all integrated in smoothwall - and other utms is mystery. Their design is about 5 years behind what we need.
