Zoom7000 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Just had a laptop dropped off to me and asked to order a replacement AC Adapter because the last one has been lost. However, the laptop has no model numbers or labels on it at all. Anyone have any idea what model it might be? The only distinctive mark on it...
sted Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 does it boot if so grab the serial number (bios or wmi query) and put it into hps website might be easier
Zoom7000 Posted November 28, 2016 Author Posted November 28, 2016 Nah, it's been dead since summer apparently. Been sat in a cupboard somewhere. However, I managed to find the model number, listed in the tiniest font ever underneath the battery! It's a HP Pavilion 15-ab243na. Weird model number!

The one that always seems to throw me are serial numbers on servers- the last one I had to check was on a pull-out plastic panel. It had me stumped for a while before I realised what that random pull tab was for! the ab243na is normally used to differentiate configurations, e.g. different CPU or factory RAM amount.
novastorm Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 It looks like its one made in the last two years. I can tell by the B and O Logo. They used to have Dre Beats before that.
