Procurve - InterVLAN routing

Hopefully someone can clear this up. I need to know whether the Procurve 4100 (4108GL specifically) can support interVLAN routing, or do I need another device (such as a Cisco 2621XM) to route between the two VLANs? I've had a look at this comparison chart, but am still none the wiser: http://www.hewlett-packard.com/rnd/pdfs/SW_Features_matrix_sep2006.pdf

 

I need to route from the VLAN to a VLAN aware firewall. Thanks

Layer 3 routing

I've not tried it though as it was not available when I used a 4108 (software update)

The 4108 does do intervlan routing. I have it working here.

Can you please confirm whether this sounds feasible/logical:

 

I currently have a 4108 switch which is the central switch. Attached to this is the Cisco router which provides our leased line connection to our Grid for Learning. I propose to implement two VLANs, VLAN1 would be the network as it is now using the same IP range and SM. VLAN2 would be for providing internet access. If I managed the Cisco, router I guess I could just set a VLAN trunk between the switch and the router, right?

 

Since, the router is managed by the grid (and I don't have right to change the config), will I therefore need to route traffic internally (from VLAN2 to the router on VLAN1)?

 

I want to restrict access so that traffic from VLAN2 can only go to the router (default gateway) on VLAN1. Does this sound feasible using the procurve switches alone, or would I need to install another router to accomodate this?
