FN-GM Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Hello, Has anyone moved their email service from Office 365 to G Suite please? I am currently looking at doing this and moving about 3,500 mailboxes (after I am happy gmail is suitable). Any experiences people have had with this would be gratefully received. Thanks

FN-GM Posted April 28, 2017 Author Posted April 28, 2017 I have started a test migration. It is going very slow! The mailbox is about 6.5GB and it has taken since Wednesday morning to get to 63% Has anyone got any thoughts please?
Paid_Peanuts Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I've heard the migration between the two is extremely slow! What's the reason for the move?
FN-GM Posted April 28, 2017 Author Posted April 28, 2017 Just a few things for example Better Search of emails and user directory Easier to use on smaller screens More snappy than Outlook Web App No select all Outlook Web App Voicemails have to be downloaded before they can be played Google technical support is miles better We are also using G Suite so more integration.
FN-GM Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 I did the migration in the end. I used this with IMAP https://tools.google.com/dlpage/exchangemigration I found it had left lots or empty folders in Gmail. These commands in GAM get rid of them. gam all users delete label "_Archive" gam all users delete label "_Outbox" gam all users delete label "Calendar" gam all users delete label "Clutter" gam all users delete label "Contacts" gam all users delete label "Journal" gam all users delete label "Junk Email" gam all users delete label "Notes" gam all users delete label "RSS Feeds" Also any folders under the Inbox are separated off into separate labels and not nested. This will tidy them up and put them under a parent folder called Emails gam user [email protected] add label Emails gam user [email protected] update label search "^INBOX/(.*)" replace "Emails/%s" 1
