Arthur Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Right click Taskbar, select Settings, This should bring up Personalization -> Taskbar options. Turn on 'Replace Command Prompt with Windows PowerShell in the menu when I right-click the start button or press Windows key+X'. Once you have done that, try again. Yeah. That would do it!
TechMonkey Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Not if you have redirected Start Menu. I just get a missing shortcut error!
DJ-1701 Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 (edited) Not if you have redirected Start Menu. I just get a missing shortcut error! Well if you are silly enough to redirect things in the names of ease and security... Just create the folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Windows PowerShell And pop in a shortcut called Windows PowerShell And point it to %windir%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe Bingo Edited January 5, 2017 by DJ-1701 1
TechMonkey Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Well if you are silly enough to redirect things in the names of ease and security... I know, I just have these mad moments and can't help myself. Ta, all working now. It's really annoying when these third party solutions don't integrate with Microsoft properly or follow MS best practice. Maybe one day.
