Buying a Used Car

Hi All,

Ok so I was looking at buying an Audi A1 which I had seen at a local Audi Dealer, he told me that it had been sold and they had another one 100 miles away that had just come in they could bring it down for mme to see at £500 deposit, he took my old car details as I wanted to put this in part Ex, Rather then him bring it down and waste £500 to view it we drove the 100 miles to view the Car at an Audi Dealer, this dealer when we told him where we where from said ohh and was very polite! said if you bought it I can deliver it for you Great I thought, He said the Finanace can be sent to the Other Local Audi to be signed ect…

Great so I signed his recipt and he said we just need to sort the Finance out, no Finance sorted yet or signed for.

Over a Week Later the car has been serviced and cleaned and he rung as said when do you want to come and collect it?? ehhh

I said well if you can bring it down on Saturday I will be off work,

oh sorry marte cant do Saturday we are short staffed and they wont let us out of the garage on a Saturday.

Ok Deliver it to the Local Audi I can Collect and sign the paperwork there?

Oh no he said cant do that I have to be there on the Premasis.

Right well I can meet you there after work around 5pm Oh no I have to have your car back to me Garage by 6pm thats not going to happen he said,

I will leave it with you to have a think about he said and ill ring back….. that was at 9am thismorning still nothing

What are my options Work will not let me off as it is a not a Dr app ect I dot'n want to drive the 2.5 Hours there and 2.5 hours back after he said he would deliver i could have just done the deal through the Local Audi and done all the work there.

I wouuld just pull out as I have NO WAY of getting it.

They took £500 deposit, is that a lot?? What are my options can I pull out?

Go to the local dealership and talk to them about it. There should be a way to sort it all out. Otherwise you should be able to get your deposit back, because they said they could deliver and now they have changed their minds. Do you have any paperwork? There will be a customer services number on there. Ring it and lodge a complaint.

Thanks Joanne, Yes I do have a sheet of paper, i will see if there are any terms and conditions on and ring to complain.
