non vendor specific projector monitoring software

WE have a mixture of Epson, hitatchi and benq projector and most have an ethernet port on.

We want to start monitoring them.

Is there any software that can monitor them all on one console without us having to install software for each vendor?

SNMP would be the way forward, however, despite having network port we found that many of the projectors we looked did not support SNMP and required the manufacturers proprietary software.

 

Equally the projectors that did support SNMP did not seem to follow a standard (like you would get with printers etc.) this makes it hard to report for example on lamp life across multiple devices as the fields and measurement units were not consistent. (You would also need to find the correct SNMP MIB for the device and these are difficult to find)

Take a look at crestron roomview or PJ-link. Both designed to be non-vendor specific. Should work with the BenQ projectors at least (dependant on age and model I guess)
