HarveyFrench Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Hi I've looked at many of the standard SIMS reports and others that I downloaded from the net, and none of them seem to do very much. We are looking for a report definition that generates a excel spreadsheet with bar charts and pivot tables etc that we can use during assemblies and also by the SLT. Ideally a single workbook would contain all the sheets that analyse behaviour and achievement. So the minimum the spreadsheet would contain would be a barchart of achievement by reg group in a selected year. Similarly another with the same for behaviour. I actually have a very basic one for behaviour but can't find one for achievement. I would very much appreciate it if you could make any report definition files you have available to me either here or via my email: [email protected] PS. I understand how these things can be made, but I want to avoid re-inventing the wheel..... Sincerely Harvey French
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 SIMS Discover has the functionality you describe, the reason you can't find anything may be because other people find Discover sufficient.
HarveyFrench Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 We don't have SIMS discover. Any other ideas.
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Then I'd highly recommend installing it, it is a great piece of software. It's part of the SIMS core so you've already paid for it.

tben2505 Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Convinced we're invoiced separately for it - but it might be just the deal we have arranged. It's certainly not part of core, though - it's in with assessment.
SouthCoastSaint Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 It may be free but I'm sure IT had to put effort into getting it up and running - it certainly wasn't a switch on and it works job although that was a while ago now. Normal laptops in our school can't cope with it, the graphics cards are not good enough. I am the only person to have it on my machine. Also, I now have turned off the scheduled overnight imports as they carry on eating up memory throughout the day until Sims grinds to a halt. I only used it for dynamic groups and without updates every night these are not useful.
CMLG Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I lost all my dynamic groups (lots and lots) during an upgrade and I haven't bothered using it since then.
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Dynamic group are stored in the discover backup file and can be easily restored if lost by any means.
