Hitachi projector displaying tablet / ipad content wirelessly

Hi

We have a number of new projectors - Hitachi and NEC - throughout our school. The model numbers for the NECs are MX230 / MX271 and the Hitachi's are CP-A222WN (or similar). They have all been put on one of our wireless SSIDs and they each obtain a reserved / static IP address of 172.16.xxx.x. Most of the teachers at the school have been issued with Android Asus Google Nexus 7 2013 tablets which are fully up-to-date software wise, but a few have ipads (not mini). They have documents and photos stored on their devices that they would like to display on the smartboards by connecting their devices wirelessly to the projectors, using the LAN input. I have installed the app 'NEC projector' (for the NEC projectors) and 'PJConnection' (Hitachi quick connector, for the Hitachi projectors) on a tablet and ipad to see if the content displays on the projector. Both devices connect to the projectors (with confirmation of the connection) and the NEC ones display the documents, photos, web sites and live camera. The Hitachi ones display the documents, photos and web sites but not the live camera for some reason. When trying to display the camera as a video recorder on the Hitachi ones, there is no display on the board, but when a photo is taken, the capture is displayed on screen until it is removed or switched back to camera mode. The teachers really would like to be able to show the live camera from the ipad / tablet on the Hitachi projectors so when they are walking around the classroom and looking at students work, they can show the rest of the class the work by holding/waving the camera over the work. Just like holding the work under a visualizer.

I have googled this and 2 web sites give instructions on how to display the documents, photos and web sites only on Hitachi projectors but do not include showing the live camera.

Does anyone know if it can be done at all? Is there another app to specifically show the live camera do this? Is there a setting on the projector web interface that needs enabling or anything? I have already looked but cannot see anything obvious. Are there any restrictions anywhere?

Any recommendations or solutions would be much appreciated.

We've used Apple TV to Airplay the iPad screen to the whiteboard.

Alternatively, although we've not used it, how about some casting software; iPad to PC and therefore the whiteboard??

Hi SimonW and Cazale. Thank you for the replies with alternatives, they are much appreciated. Ideally, we would like to get it working without buying more equipment and by going directly to the projector if possible.
