[mdt] Deploying OS with MDT to SSD Failure

Hi all,

 

I am deploying Windows to a PC with an SSD, but I keep getting an error.

 

DestinationDisk and Partition did not yield a target Partition. ZTIDrivers 27/10/2016 11:43:44 0 (0x0000)

FAILURE ( 5456 ): Unable to determine Destination Disk, Partition, and/or Drive. See BDD.LOG for more information. ZTIDrivers 27/10/2016 11:43:44 0 (0x0000)

Event 41002 sent: FAILURE ( 5456 ): Unable to determine Destination Disk, Partition, and/or Drive. See BDD.LOG for more information. ZTIDrivers 27/10/2016 11:43:44 0 (0x0000)

Removing AutoAdminLogon registry entries LTICleanup 27/10/2016 11:43:45 0 (0x0000)

VSSMaxSize not specified using 5% of volume. LTICleanup 27/10/2016 11:43:45 0 (0x0000)

Logs contained 8 errors and 0 warnings. LTICleanup 27/10/2016 11:43:45 0 (0x0000)

 

I know I have seen it before, but for the life of me cant recall how to sort it.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Seems like Windows can't find the partition on the disc.

 

I would fire up Windows installer from a USB or disc, go for recovery options and command prompt:

 

diskpart

list disk

select disk X*

clean

create partition primary

format quick

exit

 

*Where X is the SSD disk number, likely zero but double check.

 

Then shutdown and try running it again.

When you get the error in MDT. press F8, this will bring CMD up. go into diskpart, and list all disks. when you get this up use diskpart to delete all partitions on the drive and try installing again.

I had that problem when I first tried to image an SSD. Something to do with the partitions, if you ever get build error messages 9 times out of 10 doing diskpart solves the issue. I'm glad I was able to help.

Ah, not used MDT so didn't realise that a command prompt was available from there.
