2016 Hyper-V

A problem I've come across with my broadcom nics (haven't tested on any other brand):

 

Hyper-V guests don't have network access if you are connected on a single NIC shared with management. A second virtual switch with its own NIC or LAGging the NICs resolves it

Yeh totally weird, I came across this as well yesterday. Broadcom NIC as well on my Dell server.

 

Certainly something you need to look out for

not sure if this will help or not but on 2012 with dell/broadcom by default virtual command queues was enabled on the cards properties and that made it unusably slow might be worth disabling that see if it helps

I presume you've tried updating the Broadcom driver?

 

I'd always suggest Intel NICs in a server, you really can't go wrong with them whether you want them for Hyper-V and/or Teaming etc...

Had this problem with our Broadcom Nics, apparently QLogic aquired Broadcoms Nics and they have updated the drivers for the ones they took over from Broadcom:

Downloaded the drivers for mine (Dell R710s) never looked back.
