Iain.Faulkner Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Afternoon all, I'm doing some work on building a site in Sharepoint online and I've got a workflow that runs when an item is created in a list. Just as a test, I've set the workflow to simply send an email to me when an item is created. The workflow looks like it runs and completes as I would expect, but the email never sends (or certainly isn't received). If this was an on premise version of Sharepoint, I would expect to have to configure the email server for outgoing mail before it would work, but I cannot find where to put this information. I'm assuming that as our email is on Office 365 that there is no way of configuring this. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks in advance Iain
apearce Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Hi Iain, Have you had a look at Microsoft Flow yet? Its a new workflow engine built into Office 365 and SharePoint. You can easily set a up a new account that has the email you want to send it from, log in with that account and ask it to email you (or someone else). Microsoft Flow is the future of workflow in Office 365 but is based on a user at the moment rather than a service (i hope they add a service way). 1
Iain.Faulkner Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 Thanks @apearce just looking at it now. From initial testing it looks like it will do exactly what I want. Already got 2 flows in place one that emails the item creator on creation and when their item is modified 1
