We had Clevertouch V series boards installed throughout our small primary over the summer break. We were fully expecting teachers to use Cleverlynx as their main application for classroom delivery until the first teachers actually attempted to use it !

It looks a great piece of software on paper but in use features don't always work as intended and it doesn't appear very robust.

We had a Sahara technician onsite and were able to show him first hand some of the issues we had experienced. He was also able to reproduce the same problems on his own computer and screen offsite. Our problems have now been passed to the Cleverlynx development team.

Is anyone using this software and in particular the more advanced delivery features and what is your experience ?

(We are running the software on HP Probook G3s with Windows 7 Pro 32bit with the Clevertouch touch drivers installed.)

If there is an extensive community of satisfied users out there I'll look again at our software build and if not I'll know to push Clevertouch harder for a resolution.

We have CleverTouch boards and we tried to use the Lynx software, but staff gave up on it for the same reasons as you. The main issue being the fact you can't create tables!!

I have tried to give feedback to the development team, but it never really came off.

Another issue I had was that I would put the software on an image, activate it and then when I deployed the image to laptops, users could not access the Lynx software as the start menu instance had removed itself. The program files were still there, so I could link to the exe, but then I would have to go through the activation process again, despite following instructions for activation on networked machines...

We had issues where the Lynx conversion of SMART Notebook files would not replicate properly. Colours would be different and text would be placed incorrectly. Things like text covered by ink in SMART (hiding the text so that it could be revealed by moving the ink) would be converted in Lynx and the text and ink would be in different places, defeating the object. Similar issues to Joanne, the use (or not) of tables and lined background.

Sahara did say that that this would be looked in to, but we will see. I'm going to take some SMART files to BETT and see which boards/software can rise to the challenge!!

Thanks for the useful feedback which closely matches our own experience. Interesting that there is not much positive experience so far ....

It's a shame really because it is really good in terms of simplicity and being able to drag pictures in from Google and stuff. But in terms of day to day use, it doesn't work too well. I downloaded the Beta of version 4.8 I think it was and you could draw a table... HURRAY I thought. But then you can't add text. You have to create numerous text boxes... :-/
