Hi all,

We are taking the leap and introducing Google Chromebooks to be used as Thin Clients / Kiosks for our Citrix environment.

I am using Gsuite and have licences e.t.c we are very close to being done, we just have a few minor boxes to tick, I was wondering one of you guys could help me...

The ''problems'' we are facing are;

1. When the Chromebook boots and the Citrix Receiver App starts in kiosk mode, it displays the message Press CTRL + ALT + S to return to Chrome OS, this is great for accessing the OS, however working in a school I know the kids will press this all the time. How can I turn off this message / hide it.

2. When the Citrix Receiver App is fully started it asks for an Account URL, we have a Citrix Access Gateway which we use for the login, however I don't want the students to have to type this in every time, is there a way to hard code our CAG URL?

3. And finally, when passed the two previous ''problems'', when a user logs in, it prompts that Citrix Receiver isn't installed, which is a massive lie because we are using it for that very session!! :mad: , after a little bit of Googling it seems to be a common problem, but no over offers a fix. If we close the box with the X it goes passed and logs in. Weird huh?

If we can get passed the above, then we will be good to go!

If you have any tips, or indeed implemented Chromebooks into your environment please comment below and we can get a conversation going.

SUCCESS UPDATE

I'm a big fan of people who post their solutions, even if it is to their own posts for others to view later on!

Our "problem" of When the Citrix Receiver App is fully started it asks for an Account URL, we have a Citrix Access Gateway which we use for the login, however I don't want the students to have to type this in every time, is there a way to hard code our CAG URL? has now been fixed.

This is how:

Through the Chrome management URL (Admin.google.com) you can add a configuration file to the Citrix Receiver App (Device Management - Chrome and Android App Management - Citrix Receiver) and choose the option Kiosk.

Under your domain you can choose to upload a configuration file (.cr or .txt), now this configuration file can be found in Storefront somewhere, we aren't using Storefront at the moment making this file unavailable... Or is it?

Citrix have created a little HTML page to create your own .CR or .TXT file (here Receiver for Chrome Configuration), Once you open this zip file, choose the HTML file.

All I did is fill in the 'Storefront URL' with our Citrix Access Gateway URL, export as a Google Policy file, which is essentially a .TXT file.

Once this file has been created, upload it to the Admin.google.com, Citrix receiver App, as described at the start...

Boom, no more 'enter Server URL' page.

:D:D
