Acceptable Use Policy on log on

I would like to display the AUP to all users when they log in and give them the option to either accept it and continue using the pc or press decline and be logged off.

Anyone currently doing this?

We're not currently doing so, but I think RM Networks have a option to do this with.

If you do have an RM network it is easy to set up. You can have a different AUP for different groups if you want as well which is quite useful.

We took advantage of the recent Edugeek Netsupport DNA offer and their software displays an AUP on login and if you decline it then it logs you off. Different AUPs can be associated with different users or computers.

If you want to go down the pure Windows route, have a look at the following group policy settings:

Computer Config > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options

[indent]Interactive Logon: Message text for users attempting to log on[/indent]




[indent]Interactive Logon: Message title for users attempting to log on[/indent]

This won't automatically log them out, but they will have to press an OK button before the logon screen comes up.

I haven't written the help file yet but you can use it as a logon script in group policy.

Been working with it a couple of days now and adapted the AUP wording for what the headteacher wanted installed as local policy on each machine as we don't have that many PC's

Works great and does what's required.

Apologies for necro'ing the thread, but I wanted to say thanks for posting this. I've just found a grabbed a copy today as I've been searching for something just like this.
