E_G_R2 Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Hi, we use Ruckus and have a number of WLANS including 1 for staff and 1 for pupil, each has its own password. Just looking on the monitor tab and I can see a number of puils on the staff WLAN. Stupid question time - does this mean that they are authenticated to this WLAN or is the WAP that they are near picking them up. I've only just changed the staff login/password and will be a tad p*55*d of if someone has given out the staff wifi password again.
Boredguy Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 All our AP's have all our WLANS assigned, but the different users only join the WLANS they are eligable for. Our Staff WLAN is controlled via Radius and the staff use their normal user credentials as it is slightly harder to share the password around that way. If your console has students listed as authenticated on the Staff WLAN, then either they got the password or the configuration might need looking at 1
E_G_R2 Posted October 11, 2016 Author Posted October 11, 2016 Staff and pupils need the key for the WLAN and then authenticate via the zone director to AD. I'd hazard a guess that someones let slip the password again.
