I am looking at getting a wireless home alarm system and heving been looking at the different options with the Yale kits, Samsung smartthings etc

Just wondering if anyone can recommend any systems?

Needs to work like a security system, door sensors, Movement sensors and a camera but then maybe link into home automation.

Really want to be able to arm and disarm it from my phone and get alerts if it goes off when we aren't home.

Cheers

Pyronix do the enforcer. I've got a basic wireless system with a SIM in it so it can alert me when it goes off (saves a phone line) and if you have the right version GSM card in you can text in you can arm/disarm if you really wanted to.

Alot of companies are supplying it, cannot fault it good system from what I've seen and used so far.

Why Wireless ?

If you go for a fully wired Texecom system you can actually get Door Sensors (etc) which are wireless if you get the addons for the main panel.

I wouldn't trust a fully wireless system.

You say you wouldn't trust a fully wireless system, I was the same but I wouldn't look back now. If I were to do things from a blank canvas I would always wire but when I fitted mine it was months after and various specialist floors were stuck down and were unable to be pulled up so a wireless system was the choice, only took a few hours to install.

Nice, I fitted one a few years back at an old property and wasnt that impressed. I went to fit a wired in my other old house and like you say I had specialist flooring in and couldnt get through. I had to find other routes in IE through Celings and walls all within conduit. Fitted extra sockets whilst at it. I fitted a full Texecom Premier Elite 48 system in my old home. Still have all the software to set it up and configure it. Compared to the wireless system it was more robust. However, some parts of the property I couldnt get to via cable so I used the Wireless Reed Switches (Door contacts). Vibration sensors on the windows where also wireless. I think you have to have the RF/Wireless Receiver module in the panel.

I had one of the contacts on my back gate too as it was at the bottom of the garden it was always armed.

Not for the faint hearted to fit, but would definitely recommend.

There are some good wireless systems, although I've not had a look at the recent market.
