Hard of sight (Needing big icons and text on desktop) Via GPO

Hi

 

has any one been able to set a profile users desktop with Big Icons and Large Text size Via GPO?? i have a few students that require this as they have a hard time seeing small text on screen

I've googled this and cant see anything.

 

i know i can set this manually but i want to automate this if possible via group policy so that any other students that are hard of sight i can apply this to their profile straight away.

I was in need of a way to change the Windows 7 user interface to use the Font size of 100% (vs the default of 125%) for custom applications on our network.

 

Many searches on the net did not provide an easy way to accomplish this via Group Policy. The font size is PER USER and not PER MACHINE.

 

I found a method using Group policy preferences (GPP) to configure the Font DPI size and wanted to share it for others who might need to do the same...

Use Mandatory Profile with settings applied, or - as I've seen in other environments. Assign a specific PC in the room which is for people with disabilities, create a profile with your settings applied and then assign it to that PC via Group Policy rather than assigning it to a user object inside of AD.

 

May or may not work in your case, but it's an option.

Last time I needed to do this, I created a custom mandatory profile for visually impaired.
