neonetman Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I'm trying to find a GPO setting to automatically disable handwriting recognition within Word 2013. Our staff prefer to use the Smartboard software, however Word is taking precedence with it's own handwriting recognition. Hopefully someone else has cracked the issue previosuly
dayzd Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I've had to disable the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Service (TabletInputService) on our Graphic Designer's computer here. Since they use a graphics tablet, Windows goes 'Oh, a touch device! You'll want the Touch-screen Keyboard!', which would then pop up all the time and generally get in the way. I'm pretty sure disabling that service kills on-screen writing too, so it might be worth a test or two. Of course, it depends on whether the Smartboard software uses the service, or has it's own system. (My guess is it'll use this service too, the same as Word will, but it's got to be worth a look, right?!) Hope it helps, anyhow!
