We have moved to Hosted SIMS -which may or may not be relevant - and one of the admin users is finding that when she exits SIMS, her desktop icons have disappeared and only reappear if she "paints" the desktop with her mouse pointer. Has anyone ANY ideas why this might be happening? I can't say I've ever seen it
AJWhite1970 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 I've seen a few scenarios where that has happened, I would say it's either explorer crashing or more likely the graphics driver. I would start by checking that's up to date. 1
Garacesh Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Sounds like a redraw issue. Could be GPU drivers, could be memory. Does SIMS still have that memory leak problem?

witch Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 Updated graphics drivers (they weren't in at all as it happens - LA computer, not mine!) Sadly the problem persists. Anyone got any other ideas?

Steve21 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 There were a lot of old hotfixes for the old version of RDP, and if one's been updated through Windows Update/Manual updates etc to the newer RDP, and one hasn't, may explain why one's got an issue. Steve

However, that makes more sense now- I shall make enquiries! When you run it on the icon in your bar does it show like a lil circle with green arrows on it? Like watermarked over the normal SIMS icon. if so that's RemoteApp and thus uses the RDP platform. Steve
