create folders on iPad using device mangement software

Hi, We have 100 iPads in our Primary school and I would like to know if it is possible to create a folder to contain certain shortcuts. It is to help with organisation for the different year groups. I know this can be done on each device but am wondering if it can be done within device management software, we have Lightspeed.

With meraki you can control the icon layout. Not sure if you can add folders though as I haven't tried but perhaps worth an investigation?

You can create folders using AC2 so i'm guessing you can in Meraki and Lightspeed too.

I asked the question with Lightspeed device management and received this reply "Currently this is not supported within the API payload. I would recommend contacting Apple regarding this". Off I go to Apple. I will be back later with an update.

Just had a quick look at the settings available in Meraki and *yes* you can add folders with icons inside them

Lightspeed are telling you rubbish most MDM's now support the creation of Folders so that you can group apps together, some let you even target apps only for the Dock on the iPad
