amjenningsgsd Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Hello, I'm brand new to working in the education environment and with SmartBoards. I'm the Computer Lab Teacher/Tech Support. My SmartBoard was working fine. Now shuts down after 5 mins. or so. The wrench/service light is red. It's not overheated. Tried first thing in the a.m. still happening. I've tried unplugging/restarting. No change. (Computer too.) We are a MAC environment if that helps. Here's the really weird thing - happening to one of my teacher's Sm.Boards too. Exact same thing. I've ordered a lamp - going to try replacing next week. After I read in the manual that's the problem. I'm not convinced though. Any ideas? Thank you, Anita
sketch Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 I am far from an expert but I know that we have a choice as to how long our board runs for, you have to find out where that setting is. I hope this is not a silly answer. I do not know Macs, does your projector have a remote as on there is the menu and in the menu is the shut down command. YOU choose how long after it starts so the bulb does not get left on and burn out.
ozydave Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 We got 69 smart 60wi. Had the same thing happen many times over the last 3 years. Two yesterday in fact. Every time replacing the lamp did the trick. Simple job just two screws.
