Bagpuss66 Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 We have recently been testing the latest version of Lanschool, but we have seem to have found a bug. When we send ctrl-alt-del it doesn't release the screen. We get the pop up for Show Screen Settings, click on stop and it kicks you off the screen you are viewing (Screenshot below). We have contacted our supplier and they are in touch with Lenovo. It's a strange one. We did think that maybe it was because we don't have it set up as a client on the server. Bagpuss66 Posted September 16, 2016 Author Posted September 16, 2016 Fixed, no idea why it works now but Lenovo are looking into the problem. They've logged our details and hopefully it was only a minor glitch in the software.
hallb15 Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 How do you find Lanschool generally? I'm looking into getting something similar and am wondering how well it works in a 'real world' situation?

I'm looking into getting something similar and am wondering how well it works in a 'real world' situation? It's excellent, especially with the new E-Safety reports. We have been using it for years here, only long term problem we have is that we will be switching to Impero as we are part of an Academy set up. All the other Academies use Impero so we will have to install it, which is annoying as we like using Lanschool!

tsorensen7 Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 LanSchool is real easy to find. You can find LanSchool at this link. http://www.lenovosoftware.com/lanschool

I'm looking into getting something similar and am wondering how well it works in a 'real world' situation? We tried a few options four or five years back and went with LanSchool for its simplicity from a user perspective. It just does classroom management, and it does it well. Easy to deploy with an MSI and easy to configure with GPOs. No on-going cost if you don't want to pay for support, which we've chosen not to, and we've been fine. Been very happy with it
hallb15 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Thanks for the replies. We're looking at NetSupport at the moment and have been impressed with it from a technical point of view.
