Yep. As above.

 

Redirected start menu taking ages to apply. Takes about 5 minutes after the user logs in to apply. (same with the tiles).

 

Is there any way of speeding this up?

Sounds like somethings timing out (at a guess something permission based). What does it say in Event Viewer?

Well usually if there is a problem with a slow redirection it is down to a corrupted icon which is not looking at the right location.

 

I would try just a few icons first rather than bulk and keep adding them until you find what icons is making it slow logging in
