Scatter Graph Excel 2016

Hi im having a problem with a scatter graph.

 

I have my two sets of data that i want to plot on a scatter graph. column A and Column B. (amongust other data)

I have a formula to populate both columns from another worksheet else where. Column A =

=IF('Data Input'!J2=0,"",'Data Input'!J2)

Column B is something similar.

 

No matter what kind of formatting i try, or any combination of formulas, i cannot get this data to plot onto the graph. However if i manually enter the data into column A rather than using the above formula. It Works!

 

why? hopefully someone could shed some light on this for me? maybe even a resolution?
