mullet_man Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Which tiles are they? Is the 2nd login a different user?
victory2015 Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 its same user and it appears on futher testing that its when they logon another computer, there start menu is blank and no tiles at all. only when they logon the first computer they were on is the start menu in tact. im using a xml via gpo.
mullet_man Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Do the shortcuts you applied on the first computer exist in the same place on the 2nd PC? You need to copy all shortcuts to the local all users start menu folder on all the machines. I've done it differently and edited the xml file and changed the paths of the shortcuts to my redirected start menu location. So far it's working fine.
stgoodyeara Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 sounds like the tiledatalayer issue. what version of w10 are you on? unless its ltsb 2015 make sure you have all the windows update installed and it should resolve it. if you are on ltsb the only work around i found is using mandatory profiles and del prof to flush the folders. take a look at this post http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/170796-windows-10-tiledatalayer-ltsb.html
victory2012 Posted August 26, 2016 Author Posted August 26, 2016 Hi thanks for message, im using new education latest anniversary version, im not sure why it is happening, as soon as the user log off s then goes to another pc logs on the start menu has no tiles at all, if they log back on the original pc tiles are back, its like they are not roaming its so frustrating, i thoguth the start menu xml would set the start menu everytime they logon soon as i turn roaming profiles off it works fine because they get new profile on each pc every time which is local, at moment might be my only way to preserve settings, problem is this is not what i want i really want , i wanted use roaming profiles, shortcuts are on both pcs they are identical builds so not sure thats the problem. Thanks
